Personal Injury
Oregon Personal Injury Law and Medical Cases.
"Personal Injury Law" is the term I use to describe all types of medical cases. I tried my first personal injury case in 1985 -- a car accident with a whiplash injury -- when I served as an Honors Attorney with Oregon's Department of Justice. Back then, I defended the case, and I won a defense verdict on a rear-end collision. I switched sides in 1992, and have represented injured people against the insurance companies and wrongdoers since then.
I have handled all kinds of medical / injury cases. Some examples follow:
- Numerous car and truck accident cases involving spinal and back injuries.
- Medical malpractice cases involving various body parts and medical issues including hypoxic brain injury from anesthesia, undiagnosed primary pulmonary hypertension, and broken bones from undiagnosed septic arthritis in a little girl.
- Traumatic Brain Injury from a snowmobile accident.
- Traumatic Brain Injuries from children falling from windows.
- Boy who lost his eyesight in one eye when he walked into a tree at night at summer camp.
- Woman who lost her eyesight in one eye when a physician malpracticed.
- Girl with broken bone from gymnastics lesson.
- Systemic illness from Silicone Breast Implants.
And the list goes on.
What you need to know is:
- I enjoy learning medicine when I represent people. This way, I know how to talk to our experts and cross-examine defense experts.
- I have experience working with injured people and addressing their special needs, both in our attorney-client relationship and in determining the fair value of the case.
- My experience is valuable in determining how to present your case to the defense and, whenever necessary, to a jury.
